ESCORT System

Mobile Robotics Studio | Fall 2021

The Mobile Robotics Studio was an interdisciplinary studio during my 2021 fall semester. I️ was one of five communication designers in the class. We split into seven groups to develop a mobile robotic system that aids users in a defined task.

The ESCORT system is an automated robotic solution for crime on college campuses. ESCORT accompanies students on their journey across campus, ensuring a safe arrival. This device reduces anxiety for students walking alone, and lowers overall crime rates.

I️ worked on ESCORT with industrial designers: Rachel Oedy and Aiden Wishart. I️ developed all interaction components and participated in the planning of the system.

Under faculty guidance and sponsorship, ESCORT was submitted for an iF Design Talent Award as well as an IDEA.
